Full Moon Sweat Lodge Ceremony

I had a wonderful experience during a Sweat Lodge Ceremony at Glamorum in Orangeville (Ontario, Canada - http://www.circleofchange.ca/) during the full moon (and partial lunar eclipse) on Monday, June 4th.  It was also the day before the Transit of Venus.  It was my first sweat lodge ceremony and I was not entirely sure what to expect.  In the end, the messages and energy were amazing and it was a very memorable experience.

At one point we were asked to receive a gift and a message about our service to others.  I received three gifts.  First, I clearly saw the image of a beautiful tree and was told that the tree spirit will help me to anchor and hold peace.  Second, I saw a gorgeous, white, flying owl and was told that the owl spirit will help me to share my wisdom to help others find their own truth.  The last image was of a bear.  The bear spirit was there to give me strength to be a light in the darkness.  I thought it was a beautiful message to help clarify for me my life purpose.

I am writing this in my blog to share my experience but to also ground the message given to me.

I am very grateful for the experience, including the authentic ritual and the powerful site (which had trees and a river flowing next to the lodge).  It was also a living lodge made of willow branches the had sprouted.  There was complete darkness in the lodge so you could see images clearly when you opened your eyes and you did not worry what you looked like (which was good since I was moving with the energy).  I even experienced Kundalini energy rising from the Earth, through me and then out the top of the lodge.

A sweat lodge may not be for everyone, but if you are curious, I encourage you to try it at least once.  It can be challenging for those who do not like heat or are claustrophobic.  My experience gave me a better appreciation for rituals and the power of nature (which I did not think was possible).
