The First Seven Years

Bruce Lipton has said that our subconscious is primarily formed in the first seven years of life.  He says that we download from the people around us how to act, and their belief systems.  He also says that as adults, we can spend around 95% of our lives living subconsciously and not even realize it.

Many people try to change and make affirmations, but if they are not living consciously in the moment, they are reverting back to what they learned as children and can become stuck.

Mr. Lipton uses the honeymoon as an example of a time people tend to live in the moment and not dwell on the past or be anxious about the future, which is why it is usually a very happy time for a couple.  The couple are living consciously who they want to be.  Unfortunately, when the daily routine sets in, people start to plan for the future and go through lists of things they have to do instead of being mindful.

We chose our parents to help us form who we are, and to learn from certain behaviours and situations.  However, to learn our lessons, it is very important to live consciously and observe our thoughts.  In other words, live in the present and be aware of when you are living subconsciously so you can recognize what you are doing and stop yourself - only then can you really change yourself and your life.

Being happy, positive, and living consciously is a choice - it is our own responsibility.

What is your choice?
