The "Not so bad" Diet

This is a diet you want to use whenever you feel triggered emotionally, or if you have difficulty staying positive.  It is a technique taught by Larry Crane - http://www.releasetechnique.com/what-is-releasing/larry-crane/

It sounds a bit wonky, and may not be appropriate for situations like abuse, but for everyday annoyances and triggers, I recommend you give it a try.  If anything, it reminds you to put the intention out there to be positive.

In many situations, it is a wonderful way to shift your energy from a reaction to an observation.

The technique itself is very simple.  Essentially, if something triggers you emotionally, you say "that's not so bad".  Your subconscious then looks for evidence to support that statement, such as thoughts like "everything happens for a reason."

One example might be a flat tire on your way to an appointment.  The flat tire may have saved you from getting into an accident.  Another example, is where someone might say to you,"a women's place is at home looking after children and cleaning."  If that triggers you, say to yourself, "not so bad".  You may then see that the other person has limiting beliefs and you might have compassion for them.  You choose how you react to people and situations.

If you love yourself and others unconditionally, then you can accept yourself and others unconditionally, and not be triggered by the words and actions of others.  This is the not so simple part, and what were are here on Earth to learn.

The goal is to eventually let everything flow by you like water off a duck's back.
