When working with energy, it is important to ground yourself so you don’t take on the "stuff" of other people; to ensure that you transmute other people’s negativity into the Earth. Grounding also keeps you balanced (spiritually/physically).
If you are not grounded, you can be forgetful, feel "spaced out", be clumsy, and possibly feel dizzy as examples. At the same time, please do not assume that if you have these symptoms that there is no other possible cause. Please talk to your Doctor if you are concerned about your health.
One way to ground during meditation is to visualize roots growing from your feet into the Earth and around a crystal. Take some time to really see your crystal and your roots surrounding it. Over time, as it seems appropriate for you, you may see your roots grow to surrounding crystals. For me, I see my roots connect to crystals around the Earth.
Your roots can also come from your spine or legs. I usually have roots from my feet to ground myself to the Earth and have roots from my legs into the Earth with the soul purpose of draining negativity into the ground.
Other ways to ground include eating (healthy food), drinking water, walking/being outside, and exercising. A good practice is to have a glass of water after meditating, giving a psychic reading, or energy healing.
