I Recommend a Daily QiGong Practice

"Qigong (also spelled Ch'i Kung) is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy (qi).   Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind."  (Ref - http://www.qigonghealing.com/qigong/whatis.html)

Personally, I have been following and enjoying, "Good Morning, Good Evening QiGong" from the Satori Method Academy (http://satorimethodacademy.com/).  They list the following benefits of QiGong:
  • Improved health and well being. Qigong adds years to your life, and life to your years.
  • Increases energy and restores youthfulness.
  • Clear and tranquil mind. When the mind is at peace, the body can better heal itself. When you have a calm mind, you will make better decisions and have the skill to know when act and when to be still.
  • Deeper, more restorative sleep. And better sleep can lead to less aging and fewer wrinkles.
  • Tones and strengthen your muscles, soothe stiffness, increase your range of motion.
  • Reduce or eliminate chronic pain. Qigong unblocks stagnant energy which allows more healing energy to flow into your body.
  • Improved digestion, and a more efficient metabolism.
  • Straightens posture. Open your joints, reduce painful trigger points, and promote balance and flexibility.
  • Helps fight depression and encourages an optimistic and happy disposition.
I highly recommend a daily QiGong practice to balance your energy body, and replenish and build your Qi (Life Energy) - especially for energy workers (e.g., psychics, mediums, energy healers etc).

The following is by Hae Kwang Robert:

"Recent research performed by Dr. Vincent Giampapa, M.D., a prominent anti-aging researcher and past-president of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine, revealed that mindfulness practices (like Qi-gong and meditation) also affects cortisol, DHEA, and melatonin.

At the slower Alpha and Theta brainwave patterns, production of DHEA and melatonin increases significantly. One study noted an increase in DHEA of as much as 44%. Some even had DHEA increases of up to 90%.

Melatonin increases were even more astounding, with average increases of 98% recorded. Many participants even had increases of up to 300%. Melatonin is the hormone that effects sleep quality and our sleep / wake cycles.

On the other hand, cortisol levels (the stress hormone) declined by an average of 47%. Naturally, not all test subjects had the same results, but about 70% recorded the above improvements. The stress hormone 'Cortisol' is a major age-accelerating hormone."
