If you believe in destiny, then it is difficult to take responsibility for your own life. At the same time, if there is no destiny, how is it that we have a soul plan, and why do so many things in our lives feel like they are beyond our control?
Michael Newton, the author of, "Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives", addresses in his book how we have both free will and a destiny. Mr. Newton states that most people do not realize that, "destiny represents the sum of our deeds over thousands of years in a multitude of incarnations".
In each life we have a freedom of choice. In between lives, we create soul plans to learn certain lessons based on what we need to evolve. We choose our body, the significant people in our lives, and significant life events; all based on the probability of particular learning situations arising. Who we are, and the life we designed - our destiny, is all based on our soul's decisions made in this life, past lives, and in between lives.
Understand that it is important to recognize that you are responsible for your own life, and your life experiences are the result of your own actions and decisions - just not all from this life. Hopefully this realization will empower people to take responsibility to learn their lessons, heal, and evolve - our ultimate life purpose.
It is important to take responsibility, but also that phrase "probability" is important. We all co-create as well as individually create, and sometimes it is easy to take too much responsibility as well as not taking enough.
