Setting Energetic Boundaries

In general, setting boundaries is important for yourself and for your children.  Whether you are setting limits of your time, the rules in a house, or teaching children about physical boundaries to protect them from sexual predators, setting boundaries is important for your own well being.

Many people do not realize that they also need to set energetic boundaries for themselves and to respect the energetic boundaries of others.

Here is an exercise you can try to test if you can sense your energetic boundary:

  • Have someone stand about six feet across from you
  • Imagine a wall of light around you about an arm's length or more around you
  • When you are ready, close your eyes and ask the person to approach you
  • Try to feel when they have entered your space before they bump into you
  • Turn around and try the exercise again with them approaching your back

The above exercise helps you to learn where your physical, energetic boundary is, but others can cross our energetic boundary with their thoughts as well.  Usually not intentionally, but this is the reason why it is so important to cleanse your energy body on a daily basis, to be aware of your energetic boundaries, and to energetically protect yourself when needed.

Without boundaries, you are more susceptible to others taking your energy or taking advantage of you in other ways.
